This week we were assigned into our groups for the semesters group project, so i spent this week just thinking about en event that my group and i could put together. I thought about things that people would want to do in real life. ANything that people find interesting in real life, will probably be interesting in Second Life too. One of the guys in the group was thinking about a Laser Tag tournament in Seocnd Life. I actually thought that was a pretty good idea. Someone else in the group thought about some kind of Second Life race, like in fast and the furious, which was a goood idea and would be alot of fun. WE havent really gotten too much time to talk about it, but soon we’ll come to one conclusion as to what our Second Life event should be.
I couldnt think of many ideas for events on my own, so i decided to teleport over to Info Island and talk to some of t he librarians. One of them had some really good ideas, but i dont think they involved enough group involvment. We as a group wouldnt have too much to do in the planning and executing of the actual event. SHe still had some really good ideas which i will share with the group. Even if we cant help someone else with theur event, we might be able to create one of our own similar to it.
Last tiem we did a group activity, there was three people in the group, and one of them was my roommmate, so it was really easy to communicate, because i lived with him. This time theres 4 people in the group, 2 of which i dont really know, and they didnt come to the last class, so i still dont really knwo who they are. Communication between group members has been difficult the past week, but we will definately have to improve on that if we want to hold a successful event in Second Life. Hopefully, the group will be able to meet soon, whether in real life or in Second Life to throw around some ideas and eventually come to one conclusion about our group project.

Oh goodness, my inner librarian is so happy that you went over to talk to the people in Info Island.
I hope the group communication improves – it sounds as if you’ve really been thinking about the project, and it wouldn’t be fair if the project suffered due to lack of involvement from others. I really appreciate that you went to do some research on ideas – even if you don’t end up using any of the librarian’s suggestions, hopefully it gave you a broader perspective on the options available to you.
Good post! I’ll see you in class later this week.

Good job on using the SL librarian community as a resource! Tomorrow’s meeting will help to clear things up.
